The gameplay, the story, the music, the tone, the setting, the atmosphere, and everything – just everything about God of War is an absolute delight. My issue is that the game ended way too early. I absolutely cannot wait for the next installment. Bring it, Sony Santa Monica.
In a massive (and occasionally daunting) open-world game made by hundreds of people over thousands and thousands of work hours, I sometimes nestle into one or two areas or goals to make the game feel more manageable. It usually starts out as focus on the story and side quests that interest me; from there, maybe I focus on filling out the map or tracking down secrets. By the end of my time with a game on that scale, one of those tasks triumphs over the others and becomes my favorite element in the game.
This outhouse isn’t freaky for regular rural toilet reasons. There’s a dark secret behind it, and while you don’t find out everything, you learn enough to have a good guess. Go to the gazebo where you meet Penelope near the lake, and then head left down from there, and you’ll find it. But then the divine intervention goes one step further and he just so happens to meet up with Dutch and the rest of the gang, who were conveniently chilling out nearby. This isn’t really a plot hole, but it’s still a highly suspicious plot contrivance that reeks of writer intervention rather than natural storytell
Now if you want to sell some stolen goods, wagons are a great investment. You can sell stolen wagons to the fence in Emerald Ranch, and lucky for you, the roads near the ranch are absolutely littered with wagons. All you need to do is camp out in the grass, wait for a wagon to spawn (which may only take a few minutes,) and then proceed to steal it and sell it. It’s not exactly unbelievable or bizarre, even if it is literally out of this world. This odd natural occurrence is a part of the world if you head to the most northern point in Roanoke Valley. It’s a point of interest in New Hanover, and discovering it takes you along a path to encounter other ancient remnants of a bygone world. You’re not just sightseeing – players can collect the meteorites and there’s definitely more than just one waiting to be snatched up. If you’re bored of the various cowboy hats on offer and want something a bit more different, then get thee to th1e Old Tomb, slightly northwest of Annesburg, just across the river from the mining town. After all, Grimshaw is one of the most respected and loyal members of the gang, and it’s clear by the end of the game that she has the gang’s best interests at heart. Bounty hunting has returned from the first game, and while the bounties don’t seem as plentiful this time around, they still provide a decent income for the more morally inclined among us. There are a total of eleven bounty missions throughout the game, and they collectively pay $650. Almost every random interaction in RDR2 spirals off into some incredible mini-task or goes on to reveal a bit of valuable information. That’s because after all the years put into this game, nothing is truly random. That said, these interactions are worth the time , no matter who it’s with… even a wild cult nestled near Valentine in the Cumberland Forest area.
