RDR2 takes us back to the year 1899, 34 years after slavery was repealed in the United States of America. The discriminating attitudes still remain of course, and there are those who would have preferred to keep humans as property, but now the law prohibits them from doing
What’s super exciting about this small plotline is that it’s clearly based on the real-life English colony who went missing in Roanoke two years after the colony was founded. Only a skeleton and single word —”Croatoan”— carved into a tree was left behind. The skeleton and tree haven’t been found in-game just yet, but it’s very possible they’re out there somewh
The game’s internal logic also has the tendency to not make a whole lot of sense. Granted, many of these logical inconsistencies and flaws are waved away at the behest of gameplay, and we can understand that. While the game certainly is immersive, you don’t want it to be TOO immersive. When that happens, you risk losing the audience. With that said, it’s still fun to ponder the total lack of sense that this game’s universe ma
There are plenty of little huts and shacks to explore if you’re brave enough to travel off the beaten track, but one, in particular, has clearly been home to a witch! Inside, there’s a bubbling cauldron full of mysterious liquid that the player is able to cons
And speaking of tuberculosis, how is it that Arthur didn’t infect a single person? TB is a very contagious disease that spreads when an infected person coughs or sneezes, and only a few droplets of spit are required for infection. And, in case you weren’t paying attention, Arthur is hacking all over the place by the end of the story. Yet no one became sick. The epilogue catches us up on various characters’ fates, and not a single one of them has passed from tuberculosis. It’s possible that the disease is latent in some of them, but that’s just speculation. It’s a miracle that no one became infected after Arthur coughed all over the c
Due to the executives and investors not finding the project “innovative enough,” I can only guess that features such as realistic weight gain, food, core systems, and the schedules of NPCs were refined/added to please them. If an early build of Red Dead Redemption 2 was not innovative enough for Rockstar’s producers and stockholders, then can you imagine the challenge the team may face for their next potential games like Grand Theft Auto VI or Bully 2 ? Yeah.
You can track NPCs and see they have actual, fully realized lives. If nothing else, Red Dead Redemption 2 finally proves what Elon Musk has been saying for years about simulation theory. We could be living in a simulation right now (and probably are) and we wouldn’t even know it. The gunsmith you followed home and watched have dinner through his window doesn’t know he is an NPC. Gets you think
St. Denis has plenty of exciting things to discover, but one of the best has to be the vampire who has a taste for the locals. Searching the area allows players to come across graffiti hinting at the existence of the bloodsucker, but gamers are only able to actually trigger the encounter with the vamp at ni
If you get your hands on this stuff, do not let it go. Not only does it replenish literally everything including your Dead Eye, but it also fortifies them. That is the most overpowered thing ever, like jeez, d
“I know this isn’t much of a source, but I do actually remember when this was posted. I lurk on the sub a lot, and I pretty clearly remember this getting posted and a lot of people shitting on it because it sounded ridiculous. This was well before the initial announcement and might have been a similar time to when the map leaked? But I do very clearly remember reading this post, being weirded out by the mare birthing minigame, being disappointed (and a bit put off) by the “development hell” claim, and being confused by what “vertical slice” meant.”
While in Rhodes, you unlock the ability to sell stolen horses to a horse fence. Do not do this. It is not worth the effort. Why? Because a basic stolen horse will net you maybe $2. If you want to increase the price, you’ll have to significantly bond with the horse, and this may take a few in-game days. And your reward will be a price increase from $2 to $5. Yay. Yes, you can make more money with rarer horses, but that includes both finding and taming them, which could also take a while. In the end, horse selling is a mug’s game and it’s not worth the time or effort invol
