It’s good and quite funny to see J.J. Abrams admit he has a problem when it comes to lens flares. It’s also refreshing to see that he has a sense of humor about it too. But fans will react negatively to The Force Awakens if there are a lot of lens flares throughout its running time. In fact, if you watch any of The Force Awakens marketing materials, such as trailers or TV spots , you can plainly see there will be at least some lens flares featured in the new Star Wars . Director John Hughes had a knack for churning out classic movies in the 1980s, and with Ferris Bueller’s Day Off , decided to remind audiences of that very fact (in as subtle a way as possible). The license plate of Cameron’s father’s Ferrari reading NRVOUS – “nervous” – fits his character, but it’s the rest of the cars that deliver the nods to the director’s previous work. With the star of this near-future action film advertised as part man, part machine, it’s hard to see how Robocop could truly take inspiration from the Bible. But the events of the movie are a clear match: Alex Murphy is a hero in a corrupt city, who is killed, resurrected, and emerges as a robotic savior.
